Curated in collaboration with the Dulwich Picture Gallery, Painting from Life: Carracci Freud brings together a striking group of head studies by the great 17th century Bolognese painter, Annibale Carracci (1560–1609), and Lucian Freud (1922–2011), recognised as one of the foremost painters of the 20th century. This catalogue includes an essay by Dr Xavier Bray and is a rare and illuminating collaboration between an historic public art collection and a private gallery.
